IndieGoes – About Us

I’m Leigh, dad to three-year-old Indiana – better known as Indie – and the storyteller behind IndieGoes.
We’re a UK-based dad-and-daughter duo, usually found somewhere near Peterborough, chasing puddles, trains and playgrounds
across the East Midlands and beyond.

IndieGoes is our little corner of the internet to document what travel really looks like as a solo dad with a toddler in tow.
That means the magic and the meltdowns, the car naps that actually happen, and the days that go completely off plan.
If you’re a parent trying to figure out whether a day out, a weekend away or a city adventure is actually doable with a
three-year-old, you’re in the right place.

What you’ll find here

  • Honest trip diaries from our days out and weekends away in the UK (and, when we’re brave, beyond).
  • Toddler-friendly itineraries that factor in naps, snack emergencies and playground stops.
  • Practical guides to things like packing light(ish), surviving long car journeys, and keeping everyone vaguely sane on trains.

I write from the perspective of a dad who wants to explore, but also needs places with loos, buggy access, coffee and somewhere Indie can run.
I’ll always try to share the details I wish I’d known before we went: where to park, whether the buggy made it through,
what we’d do differently next time, and whether it’s worth it with a three-year-old.

A note on Indie’s privacy

You’ll mostly see her here as “Indie”, and I’m careful about what I share about her life and our exact whereabouts.
This space is for her future self as much as for other families – a record of all the places she went and the little person she was along the way.

Whether you’re planning your first day trip with a toddler or looking for realistic inspiration close to home, we’re glad you’ve found us.
Come along as Indie goes… wherever her tiny feet (and my sat nav) take us next.
